At the beginning of 2017, we were in our non-serviced office where we were responsible for the maintenance, utility bill, recycling & waste and health and safety. We wanted to ensure our high standards (business and environmental) were maintained and recognised.
We also took on board feedback from our customers (mainly distributors) that their procurement processes required their suppliers to be ISO accredited.
We then realised we needed to be assessed by the International Organisation for Standardisation
Intertek – Our Assessor Choice!
In March 2017 we chose Intertek to be our third party registrar (assessors). They offered us proactive performance monitoring, to enable our business to save time and money, with the aim of passing on these savings to our customers. They helped us by sharing best practices and new industry requirements with us, as well as assessing our performance against our objectives. We also value the knowledge and expertise of Intertek being one of the most experienced certification bodies in the industry.
We wanted to gain recognition for the high standards we had in place for our manufactured and assembled products, as well as for our staff and our business processes.
We identified an Integrated Management System being key to our business, enabling us to achieve both:
Quality Management Systems: ISO 9001:2015
Environmental Management Systems ISO 14001:2015
Our Intertek Assessor is experienced at working with many different technology organisations, some within the IoT sector, so we feel we can benefit from his experience and knowledge and we take on board his feedback seriously.
During July 2017, we completed and achieved our Main Audit for both ISO certifications – even with the office move! And then went on to complete and achieve the Surveillance Audit in July 2018.
The Scope has remained our focus – “The supply of bespoke wireless enclosure and electronic accessory solutions”, although we now have a much broader range of Antenna solutions to offer our customers and this is reflected in the website change of focus to include a separate antenna range.
Based on a partnership approach, Intertek has been retained to conduct assessments over a 3 year period and we are pleased to confirm successful completion of our first year assessment and we are on track to complete our next assessments:
Our next assessment will be in 2019 – 2 days Main Assessments for Recertification, which we feel is achievable and we will continue to look to secure our high standards.
